Sylvan Lake Bootcamp

Don’t expect any fluff when you attend a Sylvan Lake Bootcamp. Boot camps work you harder than you probably ever worked on your own, but you’ll also see faster results, which is the ultimate goal of a workout. Personal trainers run boot camps, so you’ll also have the added benefit of a program designed specifically for you. The exercises at a boot camp tend to focus on functional fitness, fitness that makes you stronger and fit to handle the challenges of everyday life, such as lifting grocery bags or moving furniture. They focus on body weight exercises and calisthenics.

You’ll work at your maximum capacity.

The personal trainer first identifies each participant’s level of fitness, including weaker muscle groups. He or she listens to goals and considers any special needs of the people in the group before designing a plan specifically for each person. The plans insure that the person works out to his or her maximum potential, but is still within that person’s capability. Even though it’s hard, you see results faster.

Some boot camps focus on specific goals or levels of fitness.

Before you sign up for a boot camp, make sure it fits your needs. While most boot camps include people of all fitness levels with varying goals, some are goal or fitness level specific. Boot camps for weight loss may include nutritional information. These aren’t diets, because diets don’t work. Instead, the personal trainer shows you how to make wiser food selections to lower calories and increase nutritional value. Even boot camps that aren’t for weight loss, however, may also offer nutritional information.

There’s plenty of comradery at a boot camp.

Even though everyone may be working at different levels, each person has goals that are difficult for him or her to reach, so everyone struggles. You’ll often hear the group cheer one of the participants on to success and even applaud when they reach a goal. Many people make lifelong friendships at a boot camp or find workout buddies they exercise with after camp ends.

You’ll learn exercises you can do anywhere at a boot camp, since they require little or no equipment.
You’ll get all the benefits of having a personal trainer at a fraction of the cost of private sessions. Since the participants divide the cost of the trainer’s time, it’s far less per capita.
You’ll learn how to do each exercise correctly. Not only does the trainer show you how to do it right, he or she watches to insure you do. Doing an exercise incorrectly can minimize the benefits and may even cause injury.
As your fitness level improves, the trainer then adjusts your workout to reflect the improvement, so you’re always working at maximum capacity.
