Getting Back To A Workout After An Injury

One of the most frustrating times for any individual who has started working out at a Sylvan Lake gym is suffering from an injury.  You were hitting your Sylvan Lake gym almost daily and everything was going great.  Progress was being made, you were highly motivated, and you were really looking forward to what was going to come next.

The minute you start feeling pain, back off for the rest of that session.  If your body isn’t entirely healed yet, you could do more damage by continuing on, setting yourself deeper into an injured state.

If pain is present, this is your body telling you something’s wrong so make sure that you sit up and listen.

Keep Up With Any Rehab Exercises

Finally, if you’ve been prescribed rehab exercises by a medical professional, make sure to keep up with those as you get back into your workout routines.  Rehab exercises will help to strengthen all the muscles and ligaments surrounding the injury and will be vital for preventative purposes.

Aim to continue on with these exercises for a good 2-4 weeks after you’ve been back and pain free so you can feel confident this injury is behind you.
